The National Football League (NFL) has officially announced that it will be launching an NFL Academy in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.

The NFL Academy was first launched in 2019 to help the league and talent scouting grow internationally. The first academy is based in London, and currently consists of 62 athletes between the ages of 16 & 19 from 13 different countries. The program provides an international pathway to help players academically & athletically.

With the new academy that will be housed at A.B Paterson College on the Gold Coast, opportunities for athletes from Australia to progress on to college and professional leagues will continue to grow. The Australian gridirion league has already produced plenty of Division I, II & III scholarship and semi-pro athletes, and the NFL academy will allow more athletes to gain the exposure & resources they need to succeed.
